With rehearsals and performances in Roane, Loudon, and Anderson counties, the Roane Choral Society provides singing opportunities for adults as well as a children's choir.

Brenda Luggie
Director
Ms. Luggie takes the podium for the eighth year as our musical director. She is an award-winning Professor of Music at Roane State Community College who has toured her choirs domestically and abroad and founded and directs the RCS Children's Choir. Ms. Luggie is an accomplished singer and experienced performer with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Ohio University. Her unique perspective as a former RCS singer and board members allows for a varied approach to the community chorus, particularly in exciting collaborations with Roane State students and other community ensembles.
Slade Trammell
Primary Accompanist, Roane County
Mr. Trammell begins his thirteenth year with RCS as an accomplished and talented pianist with a love of accompanying singers. He holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and has been heard in concerts across the U.S., in Europe, and in Canada. Mr. Trammell has studied under Grammy-winning Earl Wild, Rachmaninoff pupil Ruth Slenczynska, and UTK's Dr. David Brunell. Highlights with RCS include the honor of premiering multiple SATB/piano works as well as a commissioned piano solo in 2020.
Mason VanHorn
Children's Choir, Anderson County
Mason Van Horn, a Roane State Community College Alum, holds his Bachelors of Music from East Tennessee State University. After graduation, Van Horn soon began working with Blair Academy for the Arts where he taught voice, piano, music theory, and musical theatre. Since his homecoming, Van Horn now teaches in Knox County Schools full time and is excited to make more beautiful music locally.
Dustin Lin
Accompanist, Loudon County
An alum of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Dustin is an accompanist primarily in the Knoxville area. He works as a staff accompanist for both the University of Tennessee and Roane State Community College, as well as a freelance accompanist. And when time permits, he also teaches piano to both children and adults.
Robyn Maker
Children's Choir, Loudon County
Robyn Maker, a Roane State alum, is a local performer and teacher based in Knoxville. She holds a Bachelors of Music in Voice from UT Knoxville and a Masters of Music in Voice from the University of Utah. When not singing with RCS, she teaches elementary music and middle school theatre at St John Neumann Catholic School, serves as a staff singer with First United Methodist Church Oak Ridge and as an instructor and director for Roane County Children’s Theatre.
Matthew Fisher
Accompanist, Anderson County
Matthew Fisher is the Organist & Choirmaster at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Fountain City and is the Development Associate at the Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation in Knoxville. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2022 with degrees in sacred music and technical communication and is now pursuing a master's degree in business at Lincoln Memorial University. Outside of school and work, Matthew enjoys accompanying community and high school choirs and is an active member of the Knoxville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
